This Tuesday, we begin our Vacation Bible School (VBS).  Please keep all our children and youth and adult helpers in your prayers as we grow together in our faith.  Our VBS bible school for our children & youth (preK-5) will be held Tuesday to Thursday, July 9-11 from 9 am to 12 noon each day.   We are using the Catholic VBS Program “Cathletics!”  whose goal is through activities, prayer, music, crafts, study of saints, food & fun to “train one to be a champion for Christ!”   This Catholic VBS is an Olympic/Sports-themed program where kids will be inspired to set goals for a commitment to excellence in their Catholic faith.   Our Cathletics VBS will focus on TRAINING kids in the Word of God with teachings on the Commandments, Beatitudes, and Fruits of the Spirit.

     The logo for our VBS Shirt is shown above with our church name around the center cross and the words, “Created for a purpose.”    Some may remember the question from the earlier Baltimore Catechism, “Why did God make me?”  The answer is simple, “To know Him, love Him and serve Him in this life, and to be with Him in Heaven.”   In our logo and in this next week of VBS, we will be discovering this and celebrating each of the purposes for which God created us.  Taken together and through the unique gifts that the Holy Spirit gives to each person, we journey as a family of faith, helping each to grow in God’s love that leads us to Heaven.

      We will have VBS Shirts for our children, youth, and adults at our Masses this weekend and when they come to check-in Tuesday.  For those who come early each day, we will have a light breakfast of cereal available.  We invite each to bring a water bottle daily.   Doors open at 8:30 am with VBS starting promptly at 9:00 am.  Parents (guardians) please walk your children to the registration table each day, and come in to pick them up at 12 pm.  On Thursday, we will have a special VBS Mass at 9 am.  Parents are invited.  Children try to arrive Thursday at the Hall at 8:45 am.  We will process then Mass.
