Each October the Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is observed as Respect Life Sunday. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every point in between. During the month of October, the Church asks us to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human life, and, like St. Joseph, protect the lives of everyone around us, especially when they are vulnerable or threatened. Celebrate Respect Life Month at a life-themed Mass in October: Sunday, October 3, 2021 | 8:00 AM | Mass in Spanish Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, M.Sp.S. San Fernando Cathedral (115 W. Main Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205), Saturday, October 9, 2021 | 5:00 PM | Mass in English Bishop Michael J. Boulette, D.Min. St. Jerome Catholic Church (7955 Real Rd., San Antonio, TX 78263), and Saturday, October 30, 2021 | 4:00 PM | Mass in English Bishop Gary W. Janak, J.C.L. St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (9883 Marbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78245)
