Lenten Regulations: Fasting: Ages 18 -59 fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, limiting themselves to one full meal and two smaller meals each day, with no snacking between meals. Abstinence: Catholics age 14 and older abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all the Fridays of Lent.

2019 Archbishop’s Appeal - you are invited by Archbishop Gustavo to serve our Catholic community by participating in the 2019 Annual Archbishop’s Appeal, Encounter: Live in Faith, Give in Love. Your prayers and gifts serve all of us by raising up our next generation of priests and deacons, providing sound catechesis and Catholic education for our children, bringing the sacraments to the hospitalized and homebound, broadcasting the Mass and other faith-filled programming to thousands, and bringing Christ’s mercy as it feeds, clothes, shelters, and cares for the most vulnerable. If you have already responded to the Archbishop’s letter sent to your home, thank you! If you have not, please prayerfully consider how to renew your gift or make one for the first time. Pledge envelopes and pencils will be available in the pew for 2 weeks. You may place your completed envelope in the collection basket next weekend. Comparison sheets for the Archbishop’s Appeal and the On the Way, Andale! Capital campaign are in the entrance of church.

“On the Way, Andale!” Capital Campaign - The pledge cards taken to the Archdiocese 3 weeks ago have been processed and our thermometer has been updated to 17% of our goal in pledges. You will be receiving acknowledgements from the Campaign office in the near future. Many thanks and may God bless you.

Lenten Confessions will be available at St. Mary’s on Monday, March 18, at 6:00PM until completed and at St. Francis Xavier on Thursday, March 21, from 6:00 - 7:30PM.

There are false emails and texts being generated that pretend to be Father John Nolan asking for a favor or asking for donations. They are not valid communications and there are similar ones from other priests being circulated throughout the archdiocese. Please do not respond to these emails or texts! Thank you for being valued members of St. Francis Xavier Parish community!

Adult Sunday School - Please join us for a group study of the Sunday readings during Lent. We meet in St. Thomas Hall every Sunday from 10 - 11am. Bring your Bible; notebooks and pens will be provided. All are welcome!

Fridays at 6:30 PM during Lent - Stations of the Cross at St. Francis Xavier - Soup or salad supper will follow the Stations. Please contact Jason Ferguson if you can help altar serve, help with meal or clean-up.

The hall kitchen remodel is complete. Thank you to all that were involved. With the many uses of the hall and the kitchen, it is important that it be left in good, clean order each time it is used so that it may always be ready for any unexpected uses-such as funerals. There is a checklist on the counter to review at the end of each use. The counter window shade is operated by a manual turning stick. Please leave the counter window open after each event unless instructed otherwise. As our mothers taught us: “If you mess it up, clean it up; always leave it cleaner than you found it.” God bless our kitchen, our hall and those that use them!!
